- [Instructor] More than just a logo, and more than just type, there's a grid that holds the design together which becomes evident here on these magazine covers. Before I get to that, just look at these for a moment. This is very strong design. Three different covers are coherent. They feel the same. Except for the center photo, our colors are black, white, and taupe. On the left, white on taupe. On the right, taupe on white. And in the center, white on color. On the left cover, the BA's been used as an artistic element, another benefit of its simple design. And the type on all three is flush to the left. Let me isolate one of these covers, remove the artwork, and zoom in. And there's the grid. You see four horizontal hang lines, meaning the type hangs from those lines like clothes on a clothesline. Big, medium, small type hierarchy, in that order, and five columns across the bottom. This is the organizing effect of the grid. It's very clear. There's hierarchy. Nothing overlaps…
