Contour stripes
- Stripes continue to dominate the page as I sort through the thousands of logos we considered to arrive at our annual trends. So many stripes that it all gets a bit hypnotic at times. Straight stripes, colored stripes, fast stripes, slow stripes, curvy stripes, and my stripes and your stripes. If it can be made, it can be made with stripes. Don't get me wrong, stripes are important, but we've certainly reported on them before. And though many logos are anchored to this aesthetic, it's taken us awhile to see a stream of marks start to evolve forward, and maybe this is how it started. Nothing too odd about this simple figure eight, striped in here with a modest little shadow. But when this figure shows up, it took its curves and rolled 'em through the space warp machine to create a figment of real dimension, or as real as you get in two-dimensional world.
