- [Nigel] Hi, I'm Nigel French. Welcome to Type Tips. This week I'd like to show you a useful utility that's part of the Astute Graphics suite of plugins for Adobe Illustrator. Whether you're a freelancer or in-house designer, at some point, you'll be confronted with this problem. A client supplies you with artwork and wants you to make changes to the text but you find out that the text has been outlined. No one can find the original file so you're confronted with this situation where you need to make text edits and you don't actually have text. What if there were a way to reverse the process of outlining text and restore the outlines to editable text? Well, in certain situations, there is. I'm going to come to the Window menu and down to VectorFirstAid. So you will only see this if you have the Astute Graphics suite installed.
