- Data existed in many forms. We read books, watched documentaries, even talked to former players. As we documented what we knew as facts, one thing rose to the top. This league was a league of outlaws. They made their own rules instead of adopting rules from the already established NBA. We felt like this should permeate everything we do. We needed to educate the public about this, let them know that this is a different brand of basketball. But as we discussed the project with the client, we also discovered that we didn't have a very large budget as there were other marketing efforts that were needed as well. So we were going to have to both educate and excite economically, which meant as we headed into the problem design phase, we were going to have to think of ways we could extend their marketing dollar while accomplishing our goal.
