Dots
- Now that we've opened your eyes to the pattern prevalent in this report let's look at a first cousin Ziptun. But one that's arrived and differentiates itself in an entirely different way. Dots, polka dots if you will. One of the deviations with Dots is the use of this pattern on a larger scale where you can start to consider the spots as individual units as opposed to thinking of this as just a pattern. I picture Jay Fletcher selecting the dots on this bold bouquet because it looks like a liberal dose of sesame seeds sprinkled atop the dish. The scale of the dots are small and the proximity is loose so I get that it probably represents a smaller ingredient. Note that these dots serve as an approximation of a woven basket. As opposed to faithfully trying to replicate the weave. Polka dots are generally viewed as a cheerful pattern and steeped in a bit of retro nostalgia as well.
