- Almost every magazine has a letter from the editor or from the publisher and so I took this opportunity to try working out a design next to an ad, so we'll be working in two live columns with one advertising column. I did this on purpose. We're just going to ignore the ad and work in a narrower space, the same principles of grid and style apply. Set in the same section head as before, then add a descriptive sub head, you know like who's Nina? And this was fun, I just dropped in a line of miller text, the same as the text size and it worked. Little serendipity there, I thought it had just the right vibe so I left it. Along the same hang line, drop two columns of text and leave some room at the bottom for a small mast head. Added Nina's photo, it works here, it's better here, bleeding to the top this makes it more part of the heading and it really works better with the vertical flow of the page.
