- Do you ever notice that when you're striving really hard towards a single outcome, like a deadline looming, it feels like tunnel vision? Things tend to close down on the periphery, and the only thing that seems to matter is the ultimate goal. We don't consider anything else. We're blinded by the stress of achieving the outcome. We don't consider that our single idea could be expanded, and enriched by dimensional thinking. Creating comparisons, and seeing relationships. Getting out of the tunnel. Maybe an unprecedented end goal could be achieved but reversing, or flipping, our original idea, and seeing it in a new way. I often play with generating new ideas by creating mirrored repeat patterns of a simple silhouette. The silhouette can be drawn from something you'd find on your desk, like keys.
