Import (or Export) a CC Library

- Once you've seen the benefit of using CC libraries and how much quicker it makes accessing the different things that you work with, you're going to get into it really, really into it. And your libraries panel can get really busy. Now this one isn't anywhere near as busy as the one that I have on the machine that I work on day-to-day, but it's still quite busy. I did actually clean it up a little bit before recording this course so that it didn't look dreadful and you didn't judge me, but there you go. So, a useful thing to do, periodically, especially if you've got maybe a client that you're not working with for awhile or some scenario like that, is that you can export a library and archive it and later it can be re-imported. Now if you have access to the exercise files you can get some direct experience of this by importing a library as I'm about to do right now. So for that, I'm going to go to the flyout menu in any of the libraries panels. I just happen to be in Photoshop here, but it could be any of the libraries panels such as in InDesign and Illustrator and so on. I'm going to choose import library and then here I get to navigate to my folder. Now I've got mine out in a folder here on the desktop. Yours will be in the exercise files if you have access to them. Okay, but I'm going to bring in this 2021 CC Libraries.cclibs. So I'll open that and then just confirm that here and the libraries panel will unpack those assets and restore them to the library. Now should you need to do the opposite and export a library, that is also really easy to do. You simply go back to the flyout and choose export, name of your CC library here, okay? And as is similar to the input operation you get to choose where the library in this particular case is going to go and then you export it and it generates that file. So, it's super handy to know that you can do that just if you want to manage the whole libraries thing inside of the libraries panel because it can get pretty wild.
