- To recap the last few episodes, creativity begins with an impulse. A usually fleeting thought, idea, or image or feeling that can be worked with care into a bigger creative idea. The person who seems to be more creative is usually just someone who is better able to hear those impulses. In other words, you are already creative, you just might not be tuned properly. There are, of course, big obstacles to this whole creative process and one of those big obstacles is you and that's because while the brain does have an incredible ability to generate creative content, it has a simultaneous facility that talks you out of paying attention to or lending value to your creative impulses. Hey, I know! Nah! That. That editor. Sometimes your internal editor is so strong that it shuts down an impulse before you've acknowledged it's even there.
