Insert special characters
- [Instructor] Let's see how to enter special text characters in Affinity Publisher. In our file here we have a bunch of entries in a list of flowers and I'll zoom in a bit at the end of the first one and here we have the flowering period. And let's say we needed to change this so the months were separated by an en-dash. You can simply select the word "to" and the spaces around it and type the shortcut for an en-dash which is option hyphen on the Mac or ALT hyphen on Windows. But what if you didn't know that shortcut? Well there are a few ways that Publisher can help you insert special characters. One is to go to the text menu and choose Insert. And here you have lots of choices organized into sub-menus like Symbols, Maths, Quotation Marks, Dashes and Hyphens, Spaces and Tabs and Breaks. To get an en-dash, I'll choose it from Dashes and Hyphens. And the keyboard shortcut is listed here to help you learn it. Now let's say…
