- When asked to present new original ideas, it's easy to be paralyzed and feel like we don't have anything original to offer. Don't buck away if you can't seem to come up with something authentic and fresh. I know that when we're stuck in a creative rut the stress builds, blocking our ability to channel original thinking. It's a really slippery slope. The key here is to relax and reduce the pressure. Creating spaciousness through tactile creative acts can effortlessly bring us to solutions when we least expect it. Here are some of my favorite process-based activities. I do them to loosen up in the studio when I'm feeling stuck. You may find them helpful to weave into your everyday life to get your creative juices flowing.
