Introduction

- Have you ever been in a rut at work or in the studio that you just can't seem to get out of? What keeps us from jumping into the unknown and trying a new way in? For most of us, it's fear, fear of moving beyond our habitual tendencies, rewiring what we're hardwired for. What if it's hard? What if we reveal our inadequacies by failing? As professionals, trying something new can be terrifying, yet experiencing the edge of this newness is the only way to build bravery, bravery to move out of our comfort zone and stop stagnating. Here are some fun exercises I use to attempt what I don't know, what I can't predict. Interfacing with the unpredictable expands our ability to troubleshoot and see things as they're presented to us in a more multifaceted way. I say be a beginner, get uncomfortable, choose grit.
