Organizing with layers

a good creative habit to develop. When you compose and create your designs and illustrations using layers is going to allow you more flexibility to edit and compose your visual elements. It's certainly more efficient than using one single layer to create everything. So in this movie, I'm going to show you how I go about organizing complex artwork through the process of drawing and refining my drawing. But now I'm going to build the artwork, using this as the roadmap to build my artwork. I usually select my sketch and I place it on its own layer, I set the opacity to about 20%, lock the layer, and then on the layer above it is called the base vector layer. This is where I focus on form and shape and create all the shapes I'm going to use in this illustration. This isn't the final art, I clean it up as I go, in terms of colorizing it and fusing certain things together.
