Paper choices

- A major expense of the paper catalog is the paper. And it's a big part of the aesthetic, too. Paper has a look and a feel. It's tactile. It has different surfaces. It has weight. It has stiffness. The more highly finished and heavier the paper, the more expensive it is both in cost and in the image it conveys. I'd say consult your printer for guidance. Your printer will know there are a lot of qualities to paper. Some papers, for example, fold better than others and so on. There's a general range. At the top is high gloss paper. This can also be heavy paper. It might be thin paper, but the surface is very glossy. It's going to shine. It will convey luxury, because the paper is obviously expensive. If that is your vibe, I'd say don't skimp there. Just budget that into the cost. Standard is kind of an average gloss. There's a bit of shine to the page. The paper is fairly thin. It opens easily.
