- For the last 25 years, there are a few things that continue to amaze me when it comes to working with others. I'm always surprised at the lack of training and ability to prepare ourselves for constructive criticism, whether it's from a performance review, peer review, online comment, or client feedback. No one likes hearing negative feedback and it often can be received as negative or worse than it is. I can't think of many other professions like the creative industry where it's built into our careers that we will get input, sometimes harsh input, on work that we have worked on with all of our might. In fact, think about a typical meeting with clients when we present various ideas. It's a given that if you are showing more than one idea, one will be chosen and the others will not.
