Rebranded: Uber

- Uber, the ride hailing company, rebranded a while back and I'd like you to imagine the challenge of that. Uber is a young company, still evolving, and ubiquitous, it's everywhere. Uber has millions of drivers and gives millions of rides every day around the world, in many countries and cultures and languages, English being only one. What image would you use for that? Add two more factors, one Uber is that rare company whose name has become synonymous with its product, with ride hailing. You catch an Uber even if you're taking a Lyft. We don't search, we Google. We use a Kleenex. In the old days, to make a copy we'd Xerox something. Uber has achieved that. The other factor is that Uber has a reputation to repair. Brash, reckless, crossed some lines. How do you brand that? I can't imagine a look simpler than the one they've found. Or better. The new logo looks like this. And this. The simplest of type faces.…
