- [Narrator] Remote or in-person testing. What method is better? Well, this depends on several factors. One, does the method of testing you're using benefit more from remote or in-person? Two, could the context, setting, and environment play an important factor in what you learn? In considering those two essential questions, we do have to be careful. Sometimes in-person seems unimportant to what you may learn from observation, and you find in hindsight that the environment or the interaction within a group is important to understand. For example, while working on a cyber defense program, it was very difficult to get access to the military and government professionals that would be our users. It was even harder to gain access on-site due to security and privacy. To make matters even more challenging, we were limited to recording pictures, video, or sound.
