- In 2010 when I was just learning about infographics, I designed this monstrosity. The layout and information hierarchy is a mess. The flood of stock imagery is riddled with competing styles. There are far too many fonts. The list goes on. But while this looks like something that could have been slapped together in a day, you'd be surprised to learn, that I spent around 80 hours on this thing between research, design and sourcing. And one of the biggest reasons that it took that long, was because I didn't use the right tool for the job. I used Adobe Photoshop instead of Adobe Illustrator. But Photoshop is made for editing photos, like its name implies. When developing content rooted in visual communication, make sure you use the right tools for the job.
