- [Instructor] Hi, I'm Nigel French, welcome to Type Tips. This week I'd like to show you how to create this look, text highlighting with a custom edge. This was suggested by an article on "InDesignSecrets" by Stephano Bernardi and you can look at his solution right here, I've adapted it for a slightly different usage. Now while it's true that you can create text reversing out of a solid bar and have that be part of a continuous text flow using paragraph rules or paragraph shading, what you can't do is add this custom edge. This custom edge comes from combining a paragraph rule with an anchored object. So I'm going to move to my starting point, and I have a paragraph style applied to the days of the week, I'm going to come and edit that paragraph style. I'll come to paragraph rules.
