Usability testing

- Usability testing is one of the most recognizable forms of testing within design. Maybe it's the ease with which most can ascertain what it is from its very name, testing how usable something is. Einstein summarizes this so well. "Everything should be made as simple as possible, "but no simpler." Usability testing is observing real users use your product without prompting or help. Users are asked to complete tasks, typically while they are being observed by a designer or researcher to see where they encounter problems and experience confusion. Usability testing is a great way to discover problems that are prohibiting your customers from using your products. Yes, this could mean they want to give you their money and check out, but they are blocked from doing so.
