Using the exercise files

- [Lecturer] Just a few quick words about the exercise files if you plan on following along with the steps in this course. I'm using Adobe InDesign CC 2019 if you happen to be using an earlier version than that then you may find that you cannot open my files. In which case, you can use the IDML, InDesign Markup Language version of the files. In each of the folders you will find an IDML file that corresponds to the INDD file. Secondly, there's a high probability at some point that you open up a document and if it doesn't happen in this course it's going to happen to you at some point in your InDesign career, you open a document and you're faced with this message missing links. If you need to re-establish the links to any of the placed graphics here is where you can find them. Go ahead and click OK and if you open up your links panel you'll see that we have the red question mark next to all of these links. Click on the first one or indeed any one just make a note of it's name and then come down to the bottom of the links panel and choose re-link. Then you can come to the exercise files folder and in the zero one assets folder is a folder called illustrations. It's in here that you'll find all of the links. If you re-establish one of those links, if you have this box checked, search for missing links in this folder, then all of the links will be re-established. My third point relates to fonts. I'm using fonts from the Adobe Fonts website formerly called Typekit. Now if you have a Creative Cloud subscription then you have access to Adobe Fonts. If you don't have a Creative Cloud subscription then just use fonts that are similar to the ones I'm choosing.
