What is design thinking?

(upbeat music) - Design thinking is one of the most valuable methods to transform products. The first four phases of design thinking are probably the best known. Empathize, define, ideate, and prototype. But the last phase test and refine is one of the most valuable. Testing and refining enable you to learn how your solutions will be used by your customers, and then refine the solutions until they deliver the most delight. The challenges in this stage of development are twofold. One, there are many ways to test. Determining the best method is essential. Two, understanding how to apply and refine the learnings from your testing can be a challenge to say the least. Either way, in this LinkedIn learning course, design, thinking, testing, and refining, I'm going to provide an understanding of the four main categories of testing and demonstrate how each of these can be used to create the most successful solutions. I'm Randall Elliott, and I've been designing and applying these methods for 20 years. And maybe you've seen some of my other design thinking courses here. So, please join me as we learn about the valuable testing methods and how they can accelerate what we learn and how well we are able to refine our ideas. (upbeat music)
