Wings

- I've always had a fascination with Greek and Roman mythology, and the gods and creatures that inhabited the lore. It might have been the same attention that other generations lavished on superheros, casting comics or graphic novels. All had super powers and between us, I suspect that they were all pretty much fiction that was developed to explain away fate or fortune from time to time. I especially love that one of the more common superpowers was flight. Dragons didn't just breathe fire, they could fly. So that means they needed wings, right? Pegasus, a horse that needs wings to draw all those chariots across the sky. Lions had wings, sphinx, griffins, gargoyles, even the really cool unicorns had wings. Wings were the literal manifestation of flight. If someone from that period of time were introduced to a Superman comic, I suspect they'd wonder why Clark Kent didn't sprout wings when he took of his glasses. I mean, he flies right?
