Work with gradient masks
- [Instructor] Let's take a look at how to mask layers using gradients in Affinity Publisher. There are two methods you can use. One, is to use the transparency tool and the other is to create a mask and use the fill tool to apply a gradient in the mask. And they both work pretty similarly. Let's start with a transparency tool. I'll choose it. And click on the layer I want to mask in the layers panel. And, the, drag on the page. And this creates a gradient that goes from fully opaque at one end to fully transparent at the other. After I release, I can click and drag on either end to reposition it. I can drag the midpoint to adjust the gradation. And I click in between the midpoint and an endpoint to add another control. And then drag that. To get rid of it, just click it and press delete. There are also controls in the context tool bar to choose a different kind of gradient so I can switch to a radial one and now…
