- If you're like me, you generally like to have a plan. I find being totally out of control nerveracking. However, always moving into projects with deliberate plans can get stale and predictable. There's no room for accidents. What about building our bravery to take risks by practicing surrendering to happenstance? Try letting go of an ambitious end goal in favor of experimentation. This letting go can be hard for many of us. Sometimes, it requires doing something sort of abrupt to call us to action and jump into the unknown. One of my favorite things to do when I'm feeling like my process is getting a little flat is working from an ink spill. We are typically taught not to make a mess, not to spill things, so going against the grain and spilling something on purpose can be very liberating.
