A career crossroads

(calm music) - [Marty] At one point, I wanted to be a musician, I was starting to write songs. I really like enjoyed writing songs, not so much musicianship cause I didn't like practice that much, really. One of the other students came up to me one morning and says, "You know how they're doing," cause it's in Hollywood, he said "they're doing an audition for a TV series, "and they're looking for people that can play "the guitar and write songs and you do that right?" And I said, "Oh yeah." And he says, "Well you got to just go down, "you know tonight. You got to just go down "and just see what it's about." So I thought, what the heck? Took my guitar and went down and there was this long line of people out in front of Desilu Studios, where they were having the audition.
