The impact of color across cultures

- There is power in how we communicate through color. When it comes to culture, we simply can't select the swatch color and throw it like confetti and say we understand the symbolic connection between color and culture. Okay, so you may not be throwing swatches at people, but because color is a deeply rooted universal language and one of the primary forms of communication, we need to understand how it plays a role in the perception of our brand, internally and externally. So not just your market audience, it also includes your employees. When we look around, we can see how color is infused in our traditions, beliefs, folk dances, holidays, artwork, textiles, country and state flags, and sports. Color and culture creates an experience for our audience that can bring people together, consciously or subconsciously. Curiosity for knowledge, respect, and admiration for other cultures was instilled in me as a child. As a Latina, I feel blessed to have grown up in Venezuela where all my friends were international. Because of that rich experience, I was exposed to diverse cultures and traditions and language, all which profoundly impacted the work that I do today. Hola, I'm Nicte Cuevas. I'm a graphic designer and brand strategist and the owner of Nicte Creative Design. I'm beyond thrilled to share this incredible impact of color and culture with you in my LinkedIn Learning course.
