- In my kitchen on the wall opposite my Italian-made espresso machine which I love dearly, is my almost equally beloved shrine to espresso, and to Italy and to Italian race cars and motorcycles. Now, why did I assemble this so-called shrine? Okay, a few reasons. First, yeah, I'm a coffee snob and I'm proud of it, and I'm also crazy about Italy and its motor racing heritage, that's why, plus even after more than 15 years of having this thing in my kitchen, it still makes me smile. That's another great reason to have it around, but there's more. Another great reason for having and maintaining a shrine/assemblage like this is that it has some serious creative cross-training benefits, okay. What I'm talking about here is that this is a three-dimensional art project and working three-dimensionally, that can be really good for those of us who spend the vast majority of our time working in two dimensions, like on flat computer…
