Poll students through D2L surveys
- [Instructor] When teaching, it's sometimes helpful to feel the level of the room, asking students for their thoughts on either an issue or the class overall, without tying those responses to grades or assessments. Fortunately, D2L has built-in survey functionality. Creating a survey starts here in the Course Administration page. Scroll down to the assessment area and then select Survey. To create your first survey, select New Survey. In the resulting window, give your survey a name. We'll go with Student Satisfaction Survey. Then we'll hit Save. Once you've saved the survey name, you can set up the particulars. A lot of what's here is pretty similar to standard D2L functionality with things like quizzes or self-assessments. On the Restrictions tab, you can activate your survey once it is completed, set up when the survey will be available, and designate any release conditions, allowable attempts, or special access limitations.
