How well you perform those evaluations has a huge impact on the overall quality of the application as a whole, since you, as the system architect, have a perspective on the overall system, a perspective that nobody else working on the software has. Your evaluation at this work of other developers provides the major opportunity for anyone to influence the quality of the entire application.
