As you move from a software engineer to a software architect, you'll need to adjust your mindset. You are now responsible for the holistic needs of an application, not just a parochial view of one particular area. You are less focused on the details and more focused on the big picture. Like the conductor of the orchestra, you guide the other members of the orchestra. You direct what they do. You help them do their best and work with everyone else so that the entire orchestra performs and makes beautiful music.
