- [Instructor] In the last video we talked about the importance of understanding how your job as an architect straddles both the development organization and the operations organization. Whether they are separate organizations, or if you are set up as a modern DevOps organization, your job as an architect spans both development and operations. There are two inherently critical aspects of operating your application in the modern world, and that is scalability and availability. All modern applications must work at a high scale, and maintain high availability. You as the application architect are ultimately responsible for architecting your application, so it works at high scale and maintains high availability.
