- [Presenter] Whether you're an architect already or want to become an architect, the most important thing you can do is to make sure you work with your manager. Your manager is your greatest resource in making the transition. Your manager can help you guide you through this journey. But consider this, your manager may or may not take warmly to the idea of you wanting to move on. Even if they think you'd make a great architect, they may be reluctant to having you move on. Think about it, if you're looking to move on, it's likely because you are the best developer on your team. Your manager may be leery of losing their best developer. In fact, they may be worried about what would happen to the team as a whole if you move down out of a development role.
