Create materials and material properties with Photoshop
- [Instructor] With Photoshop, we can create image material graphics for Dimension. Images like this leopard fur, when applied to the surface of a model, will give it a realistic textural appearance. Images of wood, brick, concrete, or cardboard, or any kind of texture, can be used. An image applied to a 3D model surface in Dimension is called a standard material. I found this cool leopard fur image on Adobe Stock. We could place this image as-is directly on a model in Dimension, but if we want the image to repeat instead of fill the entire surface, we first need to set up a seamless repeating tile, and there's a Photoshop filter that makes this pretty easy to do. Let's take a look at how it's done. The first thing is, I want to crop the image to a square. I'll go to my Crop tool with the C on my keyboard, and then in the ratio here, I want to make sure it says one to one and that the Delete Pixels is turned on, and then I'll commit that.
