Creating the document

- [Instructor] Okay, so let's start building our project in this chapter. We've got lots of work to do. So, I'm going to close this that I used as an example for the gizmo in the previous chapter. So I'll just go ahead and choose to close that particular file. I don't need to save this one. You might, but I'm not going to. And then, we're going to create a new document. Now, when we want to set something up, we can actually click this ellipsis icon, just here, and make some choices in this particular dialog. I'm just going to cancel that as you can do that once you're inside the documents. So I'm just going to hit Create New here because I'm super impatient to get this started. And what I'm going to do with nothing active is come over here to this Properties region. And this is where we can see the canvas size in more detail here. So what I'm going to do is click on the Width. This is going to be 1920 wide. Okay, and then Tab through or click through to the Height, and this is going to be 1080, like so. The canvas units I'm going to use here are going to be pixels, and for the resolution, I think we'll do this at 144. Although if your machine is slow at all, then perhaps drop that down to 72. It won't matter for this particular exercise. I'm also using my scene units here as centimeters, although you could pretty much use anything you wanted to do here. Probably not yards just for the time being, but centimeters will be fine. You won't need to worry about that too much at all. There you go. So our document is ready to go. We can go ahead and fit that to the viewport, just here. You can see Zoom to Fit Selection just there, and of course, the selection is the canvas just at the moment.
