- So what I'm going to do now is just talk through the materials that I use on this course. And the first thing that I use is what I call my everyday sketching kit. And that's just a simple pad that you can fit in your pocket, just with a very simple, plain paper. It's not very thick paper. It's quite thin, but it's absolutely perfect just for quick sketches. And then a couple of pens. I use a Muji fine line pen, and a Pentel brush pen. And you'll find these two pens, I use massively throughout all of the lessons and when I'm out sketching. What's really nice about the Muji pen, is that it will work at any angle really quickly. So If I'm standing upright sketching, or down sketching, I get a really nice even line with it. And then I can use the brush pen which got this nice brush tip to it, which for really good blacks and a bit more texture, and they just work really nicely together.
