Perspective: 1 point and 2 point

Perspective: 1 point and 2 point
- The principles of perspective are pretty straightforward. Objects always appear smaller, the further away they are from you. But sometimes just hearing the word perspective can be off-putting, and then trying to capture it on to paper just sounds really difficult. The simplest way I've found to approach perspective, is to remember three key things: the horizon line, vanishing points, and convergence lines. (soft acoustic guitar music) I want to start by drawing a simple diagram of what I imagine, in my mind's eye, overlaid over this photo. The first thing I consider is my line of sight. By line of sight, I mean the angle or the position that I'm viewing it from. Am I standing, am I sitting? I'm not looking down, or looking up, I'm just looking straight ahead. Then I can determine and draw in where the horizon line will be. Then it's my best guess for where the vanishing point is going to be. On this drawing there's only one point, so that's why it's called a one point perspective…
