When you're first starting sketching, I find the best thing to do is to get a really little sketchbook and just to have it with you, so have it in your front pocket, in a bag, anything that you're going to bring out and it isn't going to be too cumbersome. So when you're on a tea break, and you look down, and you've got a spoon, that's a perfect opportunity to do a drawing. Or if you're in the restaurant and just waiting for your lunch to come, again, just have a quick scan around, and just try to find something that you can get down quickly. It will just encourage you to actually draw what's around you, draw a wonky streetlamp, just draw anything with it. And that's what's so good about having something so small that you carry around with you, that you just get into that daily habit of just sketching everything you see, wherever you go. Just have really quick lines with those sketches, and just use this as a diary, a visual diary as you go around your everyday life. When you start to…
