- [Instructor] In addition to configuring your own workspace you can also change many of Dreamweaver's default settings through the preferences panel. Before opening the panel it's useful to have a webpage open in the document window in split view, any page will do. How you access the preferences panel depends on your operating system. I'm on windows so I need to go to the edit menu and select preferences right down at the bottom. If you're on a Mac, preferences is on the Dreamweaver CC menu and it's the third item down. There's also a keyboard shortcut, control "u" on windows and on a Mac Dreamweaver uses a nonstandard shortcut for preferences command "u" and whichever you choose that brings up the preferences panel. On the left is a long list of categories. I won't go through all of them. I'm just going to focus on some of the most useful ones.
