- Definition List's aren't as common as ordered and unordered lists. But they can be useful for marking up texts in a meaningful way. The name "definition list" is fairly self explanatory, the list consists of a series of terms and their definitions. In this example file, I've got a series of paragraphs describing room categories in the fictitious London hotel that I'm using as the case study in this course. One way of marking this up would be to convert the names of the rooms to headings. So, lets say I select this paragraph with Cambridge in it, use quick property inspector, format it say, as an H2, and then I could leave the description as a paragraph. Now that's one way of doing it, but this is actually ideal for a definition list. So, lets convert Cambridge back from an H2 into a paragraph. We need to start with a series of paragraphs, and then what we need to do, is to select all of the paragraphs. They need to alternate between the term you want to define and the description…
