The DOM panel

- [Instructor] The DOM panel is one of the most powerful tools in Dreamweaver. It's also fairly easy to use, but, and it's a big but, you need to be familiar with the Document Object Model, or DOM for short to be able to use it. Even if the DOM sounds like gobbledygook to you, stick around, I'll explain the basics. The DOM panel is the first tab in the bottom panel group in the standard work space. If you can't see it, go to the Window menu and select DOM. There's also a keyboard shortcut; ctrl + F7 on windows, or cmd + F7 on a Mac. The Document Object Model acts as a road map for browsers, telling them how to display all the elements on the page, how to apply CSS to them, and controlling interactive features with JavaScript. I've opened index with html in the chapter one 01_06 folder of the exercise files. And the DOM panel displays a diagrammatic representation of all the html elements on the page.
