- [Instructor] Use SVG filters whenever you can when you need an effect or a filter for SVG artwork. Why? Because they compress, they're small in file size, they're zoomable, they don't degrade, and animators and website coders will love SVG effects and filters better than raster effects. So I'm gonna take a look at the selection from Illustrator and Illustrator provides a very limited set of SVG filters. What if you don't see anything there you like? Well, there are sources of SVG filters online. One of the ones I like is here. The creatingo website provides a nice set of free SVG files and you can download them at the bottom of the screen right here, they give you easy to follow instructions. Really, all you have to do is download this file, unzip it, and put it in a folder where you can find it. I've done that so let's get back to Illustrator.
