Set CSS preferences
- [Instructor] Dreamweaver's CSS designer writes all the CSS code for you but that doesn't mean you shouldn't care what it looks like. When your pages don't display as expected, you'll almost certainly need to dive into the code to troubleshoot the problem. Before you start work, it's a good idea to set Dreamweaver's CSS preferences to write code that's easy to read. I've opened styles.css in the chapter seven 07_02 folder of the exercise files. This contains just one style rule, but it's extremely verbose. There are separate declarations for margin on each side also for padding and for border radius. Although some people like this style of writing CSS, it can be difficult to trawl through such a lot of code. Dreamweaver let's you choose when to use shorthand for some of the most commonly used properties. You can also choose whether to use vendor prefixes for gradients.
