- [Instructor] I'd first like to start out by giving you an understanding of the internet and websites. Now the internet's also known as the World Wide Web, the net, the web, has different slang terms but really it's a global system of computers that are all linked together by this vast network. This network carries data, most notably in the form of webpages, memes, images, really all that content that you see through a screen. Now these individual webpages are then linked together to form a website, which can be very simple or very complex, can contain content or link out to other content and websites. Now if we take a look at a webpage, it's a document with formatting instructions known as HTML or Hypertext Markup Language. Might look a little confusing.
