- When you've defined your remote server in the Dreamwweaver site definition and connected successfully, you can upload your files. In adobe Dreamweaver CC 2017.5, the files panel is integrated with the get version control system if you have it installed on your local computer. First, make sure you're in file view with this first icon selected. The second icon is for get view and won't connect to your remote server. Because we've defined remote server, the files panel now has a new dropdown menu and five extra icons. The dropdown menu let's you choose between local view, the files on your remote server, and if you've defined one, the files on your testing server. I want to have the local view, then the next icon will connect to the remote server and in parentheses is the name that we gave that remote server.
