- [Instructor] In this video, I'm going to show how you can modify the floors from rooms workspace to make floor types and materials based on a rooms department parameter. I'll adjust material appearance of the new department material to create a 3D aerial plan. In this file, I've added a color-filled scheme to this view based on a rooms department value. I select a room and look at the department. You can see that the parameters been filled out with the rooms department that it's part of. I'm going to use Dynamo to read this value. And rather than use the floor finish parameter, I'm going to use the department parameter to make our floors. Let's start by opening Dynamo from the manage tab. Click open and browse to the chapter five exercise files. And open the 05 05 begin areas plans DYN. Make sure to open in manual execution mode. And click open. This workspace is set up to read the rooms in a file. Read the floor finish parameter. And create a floor type for that floor finish…
