Embedding data in Revit elements - Dynamo Studio Tutorial
From the course: Paneling with Dynamo for Revit
Embedding data in Revit elements
- [Instructor] Let's look at how to embed information about panels into the Revit instances. We'll and create instance parameters to write information to and the information we'll create is a panel numbering scheme and also information about the installation height. I'm in an exercise file with a wavy surface that's already been divided into panel points, that is, sets of points, each describing its own panel. What we'll do is we'll take this information, and we'll start by creating the family instances in Revit. We'll use adaptive component by points. And we'll use a four-point adaptive component family type. I've created one called four point panel. Once we do this, the information should already exist in Revit. Now, let's say we would like to label this panels by row and by column. Generally, we might do this by letters and numbers, or at least, that's the scheme I'll propose here. So the bottom row will be A, and then B, the panel number will be, say, C17 or something like this…
