Welcome

- [Instructor] Hi my name is Colin McCrone. Welcome to Paneling with Dynamo for Revit. This course will cover a range of geometric and computational techniques, to help express a design surface with panels. We'll use Dynamo as the visual scripting tool to describe the logic behind the process, and we'll use Autodesk Revit to host the panels as part of a Building Information Model, or BIM. In this course we'll begin by working in Dynamo to identify and exploit the properties of different types of surface, and the implications for creating panels for them. Then we'll consider several options for using Dynamo to represent those panels in Revit. We'll look at several ways to analyze a paneling scheme, such as panel orientation and deflection. And we'll find ways to classify panels into like groups. Finally, we'll look at a few approaches for applying patterns to a paneled facade. Throughout the course I'll point out concepts, tricks and gotchas that are common to paneling workflows and I hope that the collection of methods you'll learn will help you for your next paneling design problem. Let's go.
