Create a device

- [Instructor] Now that we've defined both a symbol and a footprint for our custom part, it's time to combine the two together into a device. To do that, I'll open up our custom library. And I can see here my symbol for voltage regulator and my footprint for voltage regulator. So let's make that a device by clicking here and I'll give you one guess as to what we'll name it. Yes, we'd like to create a new one. So again, we're creating a new device called voltage regulator. At first we won't see anything in here, I mean there's a bunch of windows but they have no contents yet, so on the left-hand side I'll say, add part. And then right now I'm just looking through this particular library, so that's why we don't see a thousand different entries, it's nice and clean. Click on voltage regulator, and so that's the symbol. And it's good to click that pretty close to the center, then hit Escape and Escape again, because we just want one copy. I can zoom in on that.
