Create symbols and pins
- [Narrator] So when last we left off, we were working on our custom library to create a custom component to use in our design. To resume our work, I will open up libraries and grab my lib. And we can see right here, voltage regulators. So that's the footprint we were working on. Now the next step is to pair that with the symbols so that we can resolve the two together as a device. And to do so, I will click on Add Symbol and we'll just make the new symbol name the same as the footprint. Sometimes they can be different, but in this case, it will keep things simple. Yes, we'd like to create a new one. And then here comes the editing screen. So there's really just one little piece of information we still need from the data sheet. And if I switch over there all the way at the top here, I can see the order of the pins and what they're called. So three, two, one and voltage in, voltage out and the ground.
